My thoughts concerning going back to Photo Shop for the GIF Animation aren’t much of a trouble, except that we as an individual have to remember what we did at the beginning of the first quarter and its end of quarter 2. Most skills we began with trace back to Photo Shop where our first assignment was making our own sandwich, including a beverage and a bag of chips, continuing on to colorizing images, manipulating work spaces, typography, exploring filters, and retouching photos. Though most skills we learned in Photo Shop for me don’t really apply to the GIF Animation except knowing where exactly the controls are at, like example the brush tool and the types of brushes and its different varieties of strokes it has. For this assignment we have to trace over an image of our choice, that has to be free and non-copyrighted might I add, 9 or 10 times to create an illusion of moving and having multiple strokes to go with it. We have to start with adding a background, either solid background but most suggested is a gradient background just to add some spice and jazz to it. I chose a greenish peachy background, with a cat, the subject I will be working with to create this one GIF. I’m on frame 6 I believe, and I could see how its frames make it seem as if there’s a breeze since you can’t draw the same with each layer passing by. In conclusion, coming to Photo Shop wasn’t much of a big deal for me, considering we haven’t used that software since quarters one and two.

Thoughts on After Effects are pretty bipolar and different in their own ways for me. I’ve struggled with a lot in that software, but like any other software, you need to get used to its system and its controls. First project or assignment I did with After Effects was The Ball Animation which I struggled with the most since After Effects was having a bad week and deleting most of my files, letting my final product look glitched and even cut at least 2 or 3 seconds of what was supposed to be a 10-second animation. The 2nd assignment I had to complete in After Effects was a motion graphic, involving the vector portrait we did in Adobe Illustrator and ⅘ characteristics about us that describe our personality. Not many problems and conflicts happened since from the first assignment and seeing the tutorial it helped me understand much more of how I was supposed to have an animation of the motion graphic and how exactly to organize in a way. So in a way After Effects has helped me in many ways, but has also created many conflicts for myself, and sometimes even Mr.B, resulting in giving up on a certain part, skipping it and going on.continuiing to the next frame and etc. In conclusion, I say depending on exactly what you’re working on in on after effects would variate to going smoothly or having a rocky and bumpy ride with it. Though I can say for sure you will learn a lot of valuable things and both its pros and cons of After Effects.
